Dora Viola McGill Gray, 82, of Carnesville, passed away Friday morning, March 24, 2023 at Spring Valley Nursing Home, Elberton, GA.
Born May 22, 1940, in Franklin County she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Icie Bell Williams McGill. She was the great-grandmother of the late, Ella Ruth Todd, mother-in-law of the late Becky Standridge, and sister-in-law of the late Talmadge Browning, Debbie McGill, and Denise McGill. She was retired from Fuel City. She was a member of Middle River Baptist Church and attended Compassion Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband Belton “Babe” Gray; thee children, Ricky Standridge, Martin, Rhonda S. (Larry) Bunton, Anderson, SC, and Ronnie Standridge, Anderson, SC; 2 step-children, Ron (Janelle) Gray, and Chris (Robert) Amos, all of Hartwell, 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Mary (Sonny) Carter, Lavonia, Linda Browning, Mt Holly NC, J C (Cheryl) McGill, Simpsonville, SC, Ray McGill, Hartwell, GA; Bonnie (Andy) Norwood, Commerce, and Bobby McGill, Lavonia.
Services will be Sunday afternoon at 3pm at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Paul Jameson. Interment will be in Middle River Baptist Church.
Mrs. Viola Gray will be at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home, and the home of her sister Mary Carter, 51 Beverly Street, Lavonia, GA, and will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Saturday evening at the funeral home. Condolences may be left for the family at ginnfuneralhome.com.
