Tracy Cress

Tracy Neal Cress, age 60, of Carnesville, Georgia, passed away on October 22, 2025, at his home.Born in Athens, Georgia, on July 6, 1965, he was the son of the late James Cress of Carnesville and Evelyn Roberts Cress of Carnesville. 

Tracy was married to Angela Cress of Cape Canaveral, Fl. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.Tracy proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Desert Storm conflict in Germany and remained deeply proud of his military service throughout his life.

Tracy’s greatest legacy was his unwavering devotion to the Lord. His life was a living testimony of faith, courage, and redemption. Though he walked through seasons of deep adversity, he met every trial with the strength of a warrior but the heart of a servant. No matter how fierce the battle, he fought the fight, he finished the race, and he remained faithful—anchored by a humbling and unshakable obedience to God’s word. He walked in fearless faith, always striving to rise above the weight of this world and draw nearer to the heart of Christ. His leadership was powerful—rooted in love, truth, and steadfast conviction. In his memory, we don’t just remember a man of faith; we remember a true Man of God who has been welcomed home by his one true Father.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Cress of Carnesville, and his sister, Gina Cress Davis of Carnesville. Survivors include his wife, Angela Cress of Houston, GA; Mother Evelyn Roberts Cress of Carnesville; daughters, Jessica Cress of Bogart and Amber Cress of Nicholson, GA; and nephews, Tyler Davis of Kalamazoo, MI, and Austin Davis of China Grove, NC.

Visitation will be held at Ginn Funeral Home in Carnesville, Georgia, on Saturday, October 25, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Bowman, Georgia, on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., with a short visitation at the church prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
