Tim Banks

Timothy "Tim" Glen Banks, age 67, of Carnesville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 2, 1959, in Commerce, Georgia, Tim was the son of Bobbie Banks of Carnesville and the late Glenn Douglas Banks. He was a member of Clarks Creek Church.

Tim was the owner of B&B Finishing Systems and was well known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and craftsmanship. He took great pride in his work and in the team of employees who worked alongside him throughout the years.

Outside of work, Tim enjoyed cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, working with and tending to his show animals, and spending time with his family. Above all else, his greatest joy was his grandchildren, whom he loved with all his heart.

In addition to his father, Tim was preceded in death by his infant brother, Jeffery Banks.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Morgan Banks of Carnesville; four children, Brandon (Brittany) Banks of Nicholson, Cody (Teryn) Banks of Carnesville, Chelsea (Blake) Craft of Canon, and Summer (David) Holbrooks of Eastanollee; nine grandchildren, Noah, Eli, Holden, and Emma Claire Banks of Nicholson, Hoke, Katie, Jack, and Tater Banks of Carnesville, and Hattie Craft of Canon; his mother, Bobbie Banks of Carnesville; and siblings, Gwen (Alan) Cole of Carnesville, Tina (Clarence) Gipson of Demorest, and Dawn (Gerald) Williams of Mt. Holly, North Carolina. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends at Ginn Funeral Home on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ginn Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Cole and Pastor Joey Whitlock officiating.

Graveside services will follow at Double Churches Cemetery.
