Mrs. Ruby Nell Fowler Phillips Thain, 94, went to be with the Lord on April 11, 2024 at St. Mary's Hospital in Lavonia, Ga, due to heart complications.
Born on May 3, 1929, Ruby is the daughter of W. R. and Lena Mae (Nash) Fowler of Sandy Cross. Ruby and her first husband, Ray Phillips were married 38 years and resided in Byron, Georgia, until his death in 1988.
Ruby and her second husband, Harold G. Thain, resided in the Vanna Community in Hart County. She retired from Platoon Manufacturing in Comer, where she worked as a seamstress until the age of 82.
Left to cherish her memory is husband Harold Thain of Vanna; daughter Doris Phillips Harrison of Carnesville; grandson Gary Harrison of Vanna; great-granddaughter Grace Stoerkel of Hampton, step-sons Bucky and Terry Thain of Texas, and most loved fur-baby Tiger.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents W. R. and Lena (Nash) Fowler; her first husband Ray Phillips; son-in-law Cecil Harrison; siblings Pauline (Bernice) Hart, Annie Ruth (C. L.) Phillips, William Ray (Pat) Fowler.
Ginn Funeral Home in Carnesville is in charge of arrangements. The visitation will be at 2:00pm and the service will follow at 3:00pm in Ginn Chapel on Sunday, April 14.
Interment will be at Zidon Baptist Church immediately following the service.
