Richard Brian “Ricky” Whitworth, 62, of Lavonia, passed away Tuesday morning, July 31, 2018, at the NEGA Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born October 23, 1955, in Westminister, South Carolina, he was the son of Ozzie Lee Morgan Whitworth and the late Bennie Whitworth. He had been a soccer coach at the Franklin County Recreation program for 20 years. He was a truck driver for OEM and a member of the Shoal Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Tina Dean Whitworth; his mother, Ozzie Whitworth, Lavonia; five daughters, Mandy Sutton, Nikki Gibson, Brittany Reed, Cierra Liles and Shelby Carrington, all of Lavonia; one son, Billy Whitworth, Lavonia; grand-children, Payton, Walker, Alexis, Ian, Kaylyn, Cohen, Grayson, Zach, Ashlynn, Kira, Grady, Braxton, Jaxson, Jace, and Emma; one sister, Gail Pitts, Lavonia.
Services will be Thursday afternoon at 3pm at the Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Mike Smith. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 3pm prior to the service.
