Pamela Toney Gill, 63, went to be with her Lord, Friday evening, August 13, 2021, at the Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, after a short illness.
Born November 4, 1957, she was the daughter of Patricia Cheek Dyer and the late Dwain A. Toney. She was a graduate of Franklin County High School class of 1975, and Georgia College in Milledgeville. She was retired from the Department of Family and Children’s Services and had worked in Hart, Franklin, and Banks Counties. She had worked the past 8 years for the U S Postal Service. Her love of animals extended to the many she raised through the years, as well as neglected and abandoned animals. She was one of the original supporters that worked tirelessly to start the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter in Lavonia. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Gill, Carnesville; mother , Patricia C Dyer, Hartwell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Denise and Tim O’Neill, Greenville, and Lisa and Bill Brooks, Watkinsville; niece, Dillon O’Neill, and nephew, Graham Brooks; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 5:30 until 8pm at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family request that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made in her memory to the Northeast Georgia Animal Shelter, 870 Bear Creek Road, Lavonia, Georgia 30553.
