Nancy Blocker

Nancy Barns Blocker, age 76, passed away on December 20, 2025, at her home in Carnesville, Georgia.

Nancy was born in Atlanta, Georgia, to the late Charles Barns and Sara Barns. She married Mearl "Bo" Blocker of Tattnall county GA. 

Nancy dedicated many years of her professional life to Grady Hospital, where she worked in the Human Resources Department. She was known for her compassion, strong work ethic, and genuine care for the people she served. Above all else, Nancy's greatest joy and life's work was loving and tending to her three children. Being a devoted mother defined her, and she poured her heart into nurturing, supporting, and caring for her family throughout her life.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mearl Blocker, and her parents, Charles and Sara Barns.

Nancy is survived by her three sons: Michael Sneed of Loganville, Georgia; James Sneed and Sabrina Fullard of Winder, Georgia; and Travis Blocker of Loganville, Georgia. Grandson Christopher Sneed of Carnesville. Brother Chuck "Butch" Barns of North Carolina. And Max her faithful dog.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
