Mitchell Porterfield

Mitchell Ray Porterfield, 65, of Lavonia, passed away June 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born December 6, 1957, in Royston, he was the son of the late Hollis Dewitt "Pap" and Ann Hendrix Porterfield. He was the brother of the late Lunon Dewitt "Bo" Porterfield, and the uncle of the late Michael Porterfield. He was a machine tech at Milliken Textiles.  He attended Compassion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Ruby Nell Robinson Porterfield; son, Cory Porterfield, Lavonia; daughter Crystal (Mike) Porterfield Yakich, Mukwonago, Winsconson; grandchildren Nathaniel and Peyton; great-grandchild, Alice; brother, Randy Porterfield, Carnesville; sisters, Darlene Bryson, Hartwell, and Cathy Brown, Lavonia.

Private family services will be held at a later time.
