Merle Royston

Merle Hart Royston, age 93, of Canton, GA, passed away on September 3, 2025, at Northside Hospital.

Merle was born on September 4, 1931, in Danielsville, GA, to the late Roy and Vada Nash Hart. She was married to the late Kenneth Darwin Royston on January 6, 1951.Merle was a loving, caring person with her quick wits whom everyone loved after meeting her. She was also a member of Sunlight Baptist Church in Woodstock, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband; infant daughter, Joy Royston; and siblings, Frances Hickman, Jean Phillips, Rachel Phillips, Mildred Royston, Bobby Hart, Roy Lee Hart, and Benny Hart.

She is survived by her daughters, Gail Rich of Cumming, Wanda Payne of Villa Rica, and Debbie (Elliott) Gwinn of Canton; son, Kenny Royston of Commerce; nine grand-children; twelve great grandchildren; siblings, Billy (Brenda) Hart of Hartwell, and Faye Carey of Commerce; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at Ginn Funeral Home on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bryan David officiating. Graveside services will follow in the Zidon Baptist cemetery in Sandy Cross.

Visitation will be at Ginn Funeral Home from 12:00 pm until 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025
