Mary Elizabeth McCollum

Mary McCollum, age 56, of Royston, Georgia, passed away on September 2, 2026, at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on June 16, 1970, in Royston, Georgia, Mary was the daughter of the late James and Lillie Jordan McCollum. She was retired from Lake Foods of Hartwell and was of the Baptist faith.

Mary was an amazing woman who had a special way of touching the lives of those around her. She enjoyed spending time with her family and treasured the moments they shared together. Mary was blessed with many wonderful friends who loved her dearly, and she will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her son, James Elgin of Royston; fiancé, Charles Case of Royston; stepchildren, Charles (Haley) Case of Texas, Brittany (Scott) Hilley of Canon, Brooke Higgins of Royston, and Christie (Terry) Smith of Alabama; grandchildren, Alley, Riley, Courtney, Daniel, and Aaron; and siblings, Terry (Kellie) McCollum of Athens and Wayne (Sherrie) McCollum of Musella, Georgia.

The family will hold a private cremation service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Ginn Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
