Junior Thurmond

Hubert "Junior" Thurmond, age 87, passed away on August 8, 2024 in Statham Ga.

Junior was born in Carnesville, GA on September 5th 1936 to Hubert and Ella Mae Thurmond. Junior was a talented upholstery man and worked for Ginn Casket Company.

He was preceded in death by his parents Hubert & Ella Mae Thurmond, Son Barry Thurmond, Siblings Grady Thurmond, Lucile Fowler, Ruville Segars, Mary Etta Bentley, Bertie Mae Ivester, Kendall Thurmond and Joe Thurmond.

Junior is survived by his children Ricky Thurmond of Auburn, Anthony & Terri Thurmond of Statham, Lorri Conyla Thurmond of Carnesville. Grandchildren Dakota Thurmond of Braselton, Tyler & Jade Thurmond of Hoschton, Brittany & Matt Mobley of Statham, Andrew & Sarah Thurmond of Washington D.C., David & Devyn Janes of Buford, Mandi & Allen Head of Martin, Miranda Bray of Martin. Sister Rose Bennett of Augusta, Sixteen Great grand kids and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Sunday, 11th of August 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ginn Funeral Home.

Services for Junior Thurmond will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 3:00 PM at Ginn Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Crunkleton officiating. Graveside services will follow at Allen's UMC cemetery following the service.
