Jonathan Pitts

January 10, 1991 — September 18, 2025

Jonathan (Jon) Bruce Pitts, age 34, of Lavonia, GA, passed away on September 18, 2025, at his home in Gumlog.

Jon was born in Anderson, SC, to Bruce Pitts and the late Gail Pitts. He worked as a map vision specialist for Linde + Wiemann Automotive in Lavonia, GA.

Jon lived life with a true passion for the things he loved. A devoted UGA football fan, he never missed a chance to cheer on the Bulldogs and also proudly supported the New England Patriots. He had a deep love for wrestling and enjoyed sharing that excitement with family and friends. Jon was also an avid baseball card collector, spending many hours building and enjoying his collection. His love for stock car racing kept him close to the track, and he found joy behind the drum set, playing music whenever he could.

Most importantly, Jon had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a faithful member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Gumlog, GA. His faith was the foundation of his life, and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace with the Lord.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gail Pitts; brother, Adam Pitts; and grandparents, Bennie Whitworth and Lem and Grace Pitts.

Jon is survived by his loving father, Bruce Pitts of Lavonia; sister, Angie Dettmering of Newnan, GA; niece, Harper, and nephew, Logan Dettmering, both of Newnan; grandmother, Ozzie Whitworth; and many cousins.
