JoAnn Hopkins Kirk, 80, of Carnesville, passed away Friday morning, October 20, 2017 at the St Mary's Hospital in Athens Georgia.
Born April 30, 1937, in Carnesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late John Thomas and Lillian W. Morgan Hopkins. She was widow of the late Rufus Kirk; grandmother of the late Amanda Abbs; and sister of the late J N Hopkins. She was retired from TNS Mills and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two daughters, Kay Hunt, Toccoa, and Stacie LeCroy, Homer, GA; two sons, Tracy Holbrooks, Carnesville, and Tommy Kirk, Carnesville, GA; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Jacob, Thomas, Jake, Adam, and Billy; two great-grandchildren, Kaytlin and Will; sister, Johnnie Sue Gilliam, Townville, SC.
Services will be Sunday afternoon at 3pm at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Darrell Gilliam. Interment will be in the Middle River Baptist Church Cemetery.
The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. The family is at the home. They will receive friends from 1pm until 3pm Sunday afternoon at the funeral home prior to the service. Condolences may be left at ginnfuneralhome.com.
