James "Jamie" Henry Parker of Lavonia, Georgia, age 53, passed away on December 21, 2025, at his home.
James was born in Royston, Georgia, to the late Oscar "leon" Parker and Helen Cheek Parker Haslup. He married Marie Parker of Eastanollee, Georgia, on March 14th 1992 and after a period of divorce they remarried on March 14th 2022. . James had a deep passion for woodworking and took great pride in building furniture by hand, often creating pieces that will be cherished by his family for years to come. He enjoyed working with his hands and found peace and satisfaction in craftsmanship. Above all, James treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren, whether it was sharing everyday moments, offering guidance, or simply being present with those he loved most.
James was retired from Atlanta Rod in Lavonia, Georgia, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee. He was a faithful member of Tates Creek Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Oscar "Leon" Parker of Toccoa.
James is survived by his wife, Marie Parker of Lavonia, Georgia; three children, Kayla and Daniel Ott of the Hollywood Community in Habersham County, Jonathan Parker of Lavonia, and Emily and Jared Young of Lavonia; grandchildren, Ashlynn Parker and Elizabeth Young, with Parker Young soon to be born; his mother, Helen Parker Haslup of Toccoa; his brother, Charlie and Amanda Parker of Lavonia, Georgia; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Ginn Funeral Home from 12:00 PM until 3:00 PM, with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 PM at Ginn Funeral Home.
