Imogene Vandiver Maxwell

Imogene Vandiver Maxwell, 86, of Lavonia, passed away March 7, 2023, at Piedmont Athens Medical Center.

Born April 30, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Owen Pinkey “Pink” and Jesse Mae Morgan Vandiver. She was the widow of the late Robert James Maxwell, and sister of the late Barbara Sosby, Johnnie Nabors, and Yvo Walters.  She was a 1967 graduate of Forest College in Anderson South Carolina.  She was a healthcare worker  with Tugalo Home Health. She was a longtime member of the Lavonia Church of God.

Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Gail Maxwell, Carnesville, James and Michelle Maxwell,  Hull, GA, and Gary and Angie Maxwell, Hartwell; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Ann Redd, Carnesville, and Darlene Mauldin, Lavonia.

Services will be 2pm Thursday at B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Adam Tripp and Rev. Courtney Umberhant. Entombment will be in Franklin Memorial Gardens North.

The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at their respective homes.  They will receive friends from 12noon until 2pm Thursday prior to the service.
