Helen Manley

Mrs. Helen Pruitt Manley, age 86, of Carnesville, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at the Overlook in Toccoa, Georgia.

Born on September 1, 1938 in Royston, Georgia to Oscar Gladstone Pruitt and Mamie Ophelia Campbell, Helen grew up in Royston and graduated from Royston High School. Helen, who never met a stranger, had a career that was focused on interacting with people and the public. Helen was an accomplished cosmetologist, a realtor, and finally, she retired from the Franklin County Clerk’s Office where she was the Deputy Clerk for over twenty years.

Helen’s greatest joy, however, was her family. On October 19, 1957, Helen married Nelson Jesse Manley, Sr. and shortly thereafter they started a family. Together, Helen and Nelson had three children, which then quickly grew to include many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her son, Pruitt Manley (Lori), daughter-in-law Dana Hewitt Manley, son-in-law Danny Carter; granddaughters Keri Williams (Jesse), Jessica Brown (Casey), Beth Manley, and Jana Freeman (Damion); grandsons Jon Carter (Ori), Brett Manley (Cassie), and Austin Rose (Lauren); great grandchildren Hunter Williams, Easton Williams, Emeri Williams, Korah Brown, Bentley Brown, Wrenleigh Freeman, Crue Freeman, Chant Thornton, Ropyr Manley, Rockar Manley, Ansley Rose, Emerson Rose, Peyton Rose, Dallas Carter, Landry Carter, Emmitt Carter, Elliott Carter, Blake Carter, and Addie Carter.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her eldest son Nelson (Nick) Jesse Manley, Jr., daughter Helen Ann Carter, and grandson Justin Carter.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, 6-8 p.m. at Ginn Funeral Home in Carnesville, Georgia.

Funeral services will be Saturday, July 19, 2025, 11 a.m., also will be held at Ginn Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be William Pruitt, Mark Pruitt, David Vaughn, Mike Fitzpatrick, Bill Howe, and Austin Rose.
