Faye Cheek

Mrs. Dorothy Faye Higgins Cheek, age 87, of Royston, Georgia, passed away on June 12, 2026. Born on June 13, 1938, in Carnesville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Willis Higgins and Oggie Mae Ayers Higgins.

Mrs. Cheek was a faithful member of New Bethel Baptist Church and retired from Coats & Clark after many years of dedicated service. She was known for her strong faith, kind heart, and deep love for her family.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Cheek, and her son, Tyrus Deal.

She is survived by her grandson, Brandon (Renee) Deal of Sanford, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Carson Gautier, Payten Deal, Lauren Deal, and Connor Deal; daughter-in-law, Jenifer Deal of McDonough, Georgia; brother, Gary (Brenda) Higgins of Carnesville; niece and nephew, Angela Hart and Brian Higgins; and stepson, Billy (Ann) Cheek of Frankfort, Kentucky.

Mrs. Cheek will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her unwavering faith, and the many lives she touched throughout her years. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services for Mrs. Cheek will be held Sunday, June 14, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Childress officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
