Emily Bruce

Emily Eugenia "Genki" Cape Bruce, 96, of Carnesville, passed away Monday evening, October 30, 2023, at the Brown Health and Rehab, in Royston.

Born June 9, 1927, in Carnesville, she was the daughter of Tom Watson and Bennie Eva Hamilton Cape. She was the widow of Elton William Bruce, Sr.; mother of the late Joyce McElroy, and Larry Malloy; grandmother of the late Donna Moore, and Crystal Malloy; and mother-in-law of the late Terry Moore.  She was the sister of the late Tom W. Cape, Inell Shackleford, and Nanette Holland. She was a retired seamstress with Stone Manufacturing. She was a longtime member of Middle River Baptist Church.

Survivors include, her daughter Dorothy Moore, Carnesville; son and daughter-in-law, William and Trish Bruce, Martin; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Tina Malloy.

Services will be 4pm Wednesday at the B D Ginn Memorial Chapel, with Rev Paul Jameson and Rev. Phillip Garrett. Burial will be at the Middle River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Bruce is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. The families are at their respective homes. The will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 2 until 4 at the funeral home prior to the service. Condolences may be left for the family at ginnfuneralhome.com.
