Dwight Hambrick, 76, passed away Sunday morning, February 1, 2026, at his home in Martin.
Born June 22, 1949, in Toccoa, Georgia, he was the son of the late James Dennison "Dank" Hambrick and Dorothy "Grace" Nimmons Hambrick. Dwight was the owner and operator of H&H Garage, where he worked for many years as a trusted mechanic, known for his honesty, skill, and willingness to help others. Alongside his work at the garage, he also farmed and sold produce locally, taking pride in providing fresh goods to friends, neighbors, and the community. He was an avid outdoorsman who especially enjoyed spending time with his horses and trail riding.
He was of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of Clarks Creek Baptist Church.
Dwight was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Chambers Hambrick; his son, Jack Hambrick; his siblings, Mildridge Fowler, Odeal Fowler, and Troyce Hambrick; and four infant grandchildren.
Dwight is survived by his wife, Anne Hambrick of Martin; his daughter, Diana (David) Dove of Canon; his sons, Rusty (Lynn) Hambrick of Martin, Claude Hambrick of Lavonia, and Lee (Amy) McCollum; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sibling, James Hambrick of Nicholson, Georgia; and his dearest cousin, Gail Turner of Forsyth County, Georgia.
Memorial services for Dwight will be held Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Clarks Creek Church with Rev. Joey Stewart officiating. The family will be at their respective homes.
