Dorothy Joan Moore

Dorothy "Dot" Moore, age 80, of Carnesville, Georgia, passed away on August 28, 2026, in Dawsonville, Georgia, surrounded by her family.

Dot was born on November 27, 1945, in Orlando, Florida, to the late Elton Bruce and Emily "Eugenia" Cape Bruce. She was the wife of the late Terry Moore of Carnesville. Dot was a member of Middle River Baptist Church. She was a hardworking woman who owned and operated her own poultry farm for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed shopping, crafts, and spending time with those close to her.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dot was preceded in death by an infant son; her daughter, Donna; her siblings, Larry (Tina) Malloy, Joyce McElroy, and William Bruce; and her son-in-law, Steve Kovacs.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Smith of Buford; grandchildren, Ashley (Shawn) Cauller of Dawsonville, Kristen (Jonathon) Bagwell of Winder, and Lindsey (Eric) Glaze of Auburn; great-grandchildren, Becca Cauller, Chloe Cauller, Jackson Cauller, Dawson Bagwell, Dallas Bagwell, Denver Bagwell, Caden Parr, Preston Glaze, and Parker Glaze; brother-in-law, Buddy McElroy of Ila; sister-in-law, Patricia Bruce of Martin; and her loving caregiver, Sharon Linton of Dawsonville and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Ginn Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Middle River Baptist Church with Pastor John Head, Dr. Dustin Gillespie, Rev. Phillip Garrett, and Rev. Paul Jameson officiating.

Graveside services will follow in the Middle River Baptist Church Cemetery.
