Diane Jones Malia

Diane Jones Malia, 79, of the Sandy Cross Community, passed away Sunday morning, September 24, 2023, at her home.  

Born February 29, 1944, in Lawrenceville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd O. and Annie Johnson Jones. She was a 1962 graduate of Norcross  High School. She was a retired para professional at Carnesville Elementary. She was a member of Middle River Baptist Church.

 She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Philip E. Malia; her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Doug Minish, Royston; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Paula Malia, Carnesville; “Amma” to granddaughters, Kaytlyn (Matt) Cobb, Audra (Jacob) Keesee, Olivia (Brandon) Smith, and Kylie (J. T.) Albea, and great-grandchildren Ellis, Evan, Silas, and Ezra; sister, Delores Johnson; and brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Gail Jones, all of  Cumming, GA.

Services will be 11am Wednesday morning, at Middle River Baptist Church, with Rev. Phillip Garrett.  Pallbearers will be Joseph Hardeman, Nathanael Hardeman, Kenneth Martin, Brandon Smith, J. T. Albea, and Matt Cobb.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Diane is at Ginn Funeral Home. Her family is at the home and will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home.  The family respectivly asks that flowers be omitted and memorials may be made in her memory to the ALS Foundation.  Condolences may be left for the family at ginnfuneralhome.com.
