Colian Kenneth Royston, of the Sandy Cross Community, passed away on December 8, 2025, in Royston, Georgia.
Colian was born on October 17, 1934, to J.T. and Birdie Mae Royston of Royston, Georgia. He lived a life full of enjoyment and appreciation for his time on this earth. Whether it was playing golf, hunting, fishing, or just sitting around talking, he found joy and fun in whatever he was doing always ready with a laugh or some good-natured aggravation.
Farming was his life’s occupation, begun in childhood and practiced for a lifetime, from sunup to sundown. Hard work, persistence, and toughness defined him as both a farmer and a man, honest, simple, and true. He loved his family, his friends, and his neighbors. He was always there when needed, ready to help, or to give what he could.
He taught his loving daughter how to fish, how to golf, how to grow things, how to fix things, how to drive a tractor, how to “do,” and how to be able to do. Most of all, he taught her to be good and to live as one should. He was a good husband, a good brother, a good uncle, a good friend, and a good father and most importantly of all, a good man. Teresa was blessed by her mother and blessed by her father. May they be at peace together and with all their loved ones.
Colian was preceded in death by his parents, J.T. and Birdie Mae Royston of Royston, Georgia; his wife, Shirley Phillips Royston of Royston, Georgia; brothers Cecil Royston of Royston, Georgia, Lindbergh Royston of Lavonia, and Winfred Royston of Carnesville, Georgia; infant brother Olian Royston of Royston, Georgia; and nephew Clint Royston of Royston, Georgia.
Colian is survived by his loving daughter, Teresa Royston of Royston, Georgia; sisters-in-law Ruth Royston and Patricia Hart; Nieces and Nephews Tracy (Dawn) Royston children Jeret & Allie, Vickie & Mike Brown, Karen (John) Kenneke, Stanley (Sarah) Royston and children Trey and Xavier, Faye (Tony) Bruce and children Tiffany, Christy, Shena, Renee (Rodney) Andrews, Todd (Dana) Austin, Ron Hart, Danny Grizzle and sons Chad and Jeremy, Ricky (Trish) Grizzle, Jeff (Keely) Grizzle and daughter Breanna, Gary Phillips and numerous great nieces and nephews.
