William Clyne Carson, 83, of the Bold Spring Community, passed away Wednesday morning, May 17, 2023, at his home.
Born April 14, 1940 in Bold Spring, he was the son of the late Ralph B. and Vivian Parks Carson. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School, Emmanuel College, and the University of Georgia. As a member of the Class of 1960 at Emmanuel he was inducted into Emmanuel’s Athletic Hall of Fame in 2012. Clyne taught high school for the Franklin County, Hart County, and Jackson Georgia School Systems. Clyne taught social studies, coached baseball and basketball, taught driver’s education, drove a school bus as well as other various positions. Absolute passionate about high school, college, and professional sports, Clyne loved baseball and was a diehard New York Yankees fan as well as the Braves.
He is survived by son Brian (Lee Anne) Carson, and daughter Kelly (Joey) Mitchum, all of Bold Spring; grandchildren, Mika Mitchum, Emily Carson, Sydney Carson, and Hunter Carson.
Services will be Saturday afternoon at 2pm at B D Ginn Memorial Chapel with Rev. Jerome Hill. Interment will be at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Carson is at the Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2pm Saturday, prior to the service
