Christine Martin

Christine Varner Martin, age 79, of the Bold Springs community, passed away on May 11, 2026, at her home.

Born on September 23, 1946, in Carnesville, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Alton Eugene Varner and Elvie Hambrick Varner. Christine was the wife of the late Paul Martin. She was a faithful member of Bold Spring Church. Christine worked for the Franklin County School System and was also a devoted homemaker.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Varner.

She is survived by her children, Tina (Charlton) Barber of Carnesville and Terri (Kevin) Carruth of Hartwell; grandchildren, Brandon Poole of Statesboro, Terra (Joshua) Ankerich of Carnesville, Jordan Askew of Carnesville, Gabe (Emily) Barber of Commerce, and Carly Carruth and Alex Carruth, both of Hartwell; and three great-grandchildren, Jackson, Grayson, and Olivia Barber. She is also survived by her sisters, Gail Turner of Gainesville and Janet Tillirson of Gainesville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation services will be held at Ginn Funeral Home on Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Bold Spring Church with Rev. Jeff Pearce officiating. Graveside services will follow at the Martin Family Cemetery.
