Bobby Buffington

Bobby Jerry Buffington, age 67, of Canon, passed away on January 10, 2026, at his daughter's home in Canon, Georgia.

Bobby was born in Jackson County to the late Robert and Gennette Cotton Buffington of Carnesville. He married Kathy Banister of Hartwell, Georgia. Bobby retired from AmCan, where he worked as an over-the-road truck driver alongside his loving wife, Kathy. He was of the Baptist faith. Bobby enjoyed being outdoors, whether hunting or fishing, and especially cherished spending time with his family.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Gennette Buffington; his wife, Kathy Buffington; and his siblings, Henry Buffington, Jim Buffington, Robert Buffington, and Clarence Buffington.

He is survived by his two daughters, Erica and Marcy Burdette of Canon, and Courtney and Ryan Crump of Canon; three grandchildren, Lexey Phillips, Myles Burdette, and River Hanley, all of Canon; Brothers Andy Buffington, Bill Buffington, Dean Buffington , Steve Buffington (wife Nancy). Sisters Hazel Allen (husband Edward) and Carolyn Parten. Multiple nieces and nephews. Brother in law Johnny Banister (wife) Maggie.

Visitation will be held Monday, January 12, 2026, at Ginn Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., with funeral services following at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel. Graveside services will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens in Lavonia.
