William "Bill" Ayers,



68, of Carnesville, passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012, at the Athens Regional Medical Center.



Born February 23, 1944, in Toccoa, GA, he was the son of the late Rance Estill and Fredda Jackson Wilson Ayers and was the brother of the late Dan J. Ayers. He was a retired line crew foreman with • Georgia Power Company, and a veteran of the U. S. Army.He was a member of the Franklin County Cattlemen's Association, FFA Alumni Association, and was on the board of directors for Franklin County Farm Bureau. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church.



Survivors include his wife. Judy Andrews Ayers; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Sharleen Ayers, Carnesville; daughter and son- n-law, Jennifer and James Sain, Carnesville; four grandchildren, Cody Sain, Kayla Sain, Charlie Ayers and Anna Grace Ayers; one brother, Charlton Ayers, Carnesville, and two sisters, Polly A. Looney, Toccoa, and Linda A. Spencer, Monroe, NC.



Services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 pm at the Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd West. Interment with military honors will be in the church cemetery. The body is at the Ginn Funeral Home. The family is at the home. They will receive friends from 6 until 8pm Friday evening. Flowers are welcome but those wishing to make memorials, please do so to Liberty Baptist Church, 6077 Hwy 145, Carnesville, GA 30521.
