Mr. Bennie Frank Eavenson, age 94, of Carnesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on April 26, 2026.
Mr. Eavenson was born on May 28, 1931, in Hart County, Georgia, to the late Ben Eavenson and Ossie Bell Barnes Eavenson. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War as a member of the 5th Cavalry Regiment from 1953 until 1955. Mr. Eavenson was a lifelong poultry farmer and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He also served over 30 years in the Carnesville City council and worked for the City of Carnesville water department. He was an avid outdoorsman and widely known for rabbit hunting and training beagles. He was also a devoted member to the Carnesville Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Cliff (Doris) Eavenson, Reba (Leon) Segars, Nelson Eavenson, Gene (Patsy) Eavenson, and Rachel Eavenson, his wife of 53 years, Cornelia Hart Eavenson; and grandchildren, Kristi Duckett, Reed Haga and son in law Bobby Haley and brother in law Robert Segars.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Eavenson; sons, Gary (Lynn) Eavenson and Darrell (Kim) Eavenson; daughters, Sharon (David) Barnes and Becky Haley and four step children Darcel, Wendel, Garland and Regina; grandchildren, Brandon Eavenson, Bridget (Johnlee) Ginn, Rachel Haga ( Marc), Collin Eavenson, Cindel (Matt) Phillips, Janna (Tony) Vasile, and Lori (John) Milford, eight Great Grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; siblings, Pauline Segars, Dwight (Barbara) Eavenson, Haskell (Dorothy) Eavenson, Charles (Carol) Eavenson, Faye (Richard) Phillips, and Ann (Benny) Tompkins; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Ann Eavenson. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and extended stepfamily.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12:00pm until 2:00pm at Ginn Funeral Home. Celebration of life services will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm in the chapel of Ginn Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Ledford and special friend Robert Franklin with interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.
