Barbara Ann Sheriff

Barbara Ann Sheriff, age 88, of Carnesville, GA, passed away on September 21, 2026, in Athens, GA.

Barbara was born on November 24, 1937, in Gainesville, GA, to the late Stanton and Mozelle Lackey. She married Johnny Sheriff of Carnesville and devoted much of her life to her home and family. A homemaker, Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family and treasured the time shared with those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanton and Mozzelle Lackey; her husband, Johnny Sheriff; her son, Stanley Woodall; and her siblings, Diane Hamilton and Vernie Lackey. 

She is survived by her sister in law Glenda Brackett, two brother in laws Roger Neese and Harold Henderson along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2026, from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. at Ginn Funeral Home.

Graveside funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Franklin Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Pruitt presiding.
