Floyd Belton "Babe" Gray, age 82, passed away on July 24, 2025, at his home in Carnesville, surrounded by his family.
Born on December 30, 1942, in Carnesville, Georgia, Babe was the son of Frank and Irene Ginn Gray. He was retired but had previously worked as a truck driver and operated a produce stand in Lavonia. An avid fisherman, Babe cherished spending time with his family. He was a member of Middle River Baptist Church.
Babe was preceded in death by his wife, Dora "Viola" Gray; his parents, Frank and Irene Gray; siblings Felton, Charlie Lee, Agnes, George, Johnny Frank, Douglas, and Carl Edward Gray; stepdaughter-in-law Becky Standridge; and great-granddaughter Ella Todd.
He is survived by his children, Chris and Robert Amos of Hartwell, and Ron and Janelle Gray of Carnesville; stepchildren Rickey Standridge of Martin, Rhonda and Larry Bunton of Anderson, SC, and Ronnie Standridge of Anderson, SC; grandchildren Bryon Echoles, Ronny (Duane) Gray, Jody (Tina) Gray, Susie (Tyler) Todd, Lee Amos, Missy (Burt) Parnell, Nathen (Kelly) Fleshman, and Noah Standridge. He is also survived by his special friend, Darlene Stoyle.
Visitation will be held at Ginn Funeral Home on Saturday from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
Funeral services will take place at Ginn Funeral Home on Sunday at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Jason Webb presiding. Interment will follow at Middle River Baptist Church Cemetery. A meal will be served afterward at Mt. Olivet Church, located at 2973 Mt. Olivet Road, Hartwell, GA.
